Site Updates, Corrections, &/or Additions

After the Thanksgiving 2002 holiday weekend, look for changes to the site on a daily basis. We will be tackling many of the database errors that have been occurring when trying to advance from one entry to the next in areas of the site that are accessing the Hampton Heights database.
11/8/2002 - 12/02/2002 Revisions to the interface, including a major change to how the detail view of each individual building has caused the site to go through some errors and "weird results". These changes, while they will continue to cause problems through at least the weekend of Nov. 15-18, will ultimately result is a superior site and improved ease of use. Thank you for your patience during this reconfiguration.
11/13/2002 A new message will now result when an error is made in entering data for a search. If you make a mistake, for example, misspell a street, type in a non-existant address, or type in a street name that doesn't exist (ie: "Smith Street") you will now have an error message and get another chance to find your buildings) without having to hit your "back" button. Give it a try...
8/19/2002 A new look has been added to the "Start Page" for the database of Buildings.
8/14/2002 More neighboring buildings have been added to the database. We will announce each street as the neighbor entries are complete for that street. Check this page over the next few days for completion for all buildings in the neighborhood. Hampton Court is now complete.
8/14/2002 An error in the database was corrected. Due to a typo 175 West Hampton Avenue was entered twice, when there is actually a 157 and a 175 West Hampton Avenue. With this correction, the data and photographs for the two buildings should now be displaying properly.
8/13/2002 To correctly reflect current conditions, 187 Carlyle Street is now shown as demolished (the site was cleared the first week of August, 2002). The City of Spartanburg allowed clearing of the site. The rental residential property was damaged in a 2001 fire and its demolition was approved in the June 13th HARB Meeting. The entry on the web site shows the building in both its post and pre-fire states. Within the next few days a photograph of the existing vacant lot will replace the photograph of the building prior to demolition. This brings the number of vacant lots on Carlyle Street to 4.
8/9/2002 Lee Street (the pre-2000 name for Beta Club Way) has been added to clarify any confusion in searching for a building on that street. Buildings on that street now appear as "Lee Stretchability Club Way". A search for either "Beta Club Way" or "Lee Street" will find the same buildings. Additionally, an error that showed 185 Hydrick Street has been corrected; that building is now entered as 185 West Henry Street. It's image is now displayed.
8/8/2002 Changes made to the text of the Welcome Page to reflect general site changes and to reflect instructional regarding the Buildings List Page.
8/7/2002 Missing photographs added and errors corrected on Hydrick Street.
7/29/2002 Missing photographs added and errors corrected on Carlyle Street.
7/28/2002 Revisions to the opening page of the site were made. Changes were also made to the database of buildings for the site. Continued revisions and improvements to the interface for navigating the site were also entered.
7/27/2002 Search parameters were revised on the list view of the database allowing for a more direct and time-saving path to a particular building or group of buildings.
7/14/2002 17 more photographs were added to Irwin Avenue & 10 more photographs were added to Hampton Drive, meaning that every building on Hampton Drive and Irwin Avenue is represented by at least one photograph.
7/12/2002 More photographs were added to Pinckney Court, but it still requires some additional photographs.
7/11/2002 Site Update Page begun.
7/10/2002 Photographs for all streets added (with some gaps remaining to be filled), with the exception of Pinckney Court, which still requires some additional photographs.
6/17/2002 Site was announced in the Hampton Heights Neighborhood Association Quarterly Newsletter.
6/13/2002 Site & full database presented to the Spartanburg HARB at the City Council Chamber Room, Spartanburg City Hall, Spartanburg, SC.
